Subject: Ayat 143, Surat A'araf : Another Look.

As-Salaam alaikum,
We read it in ayat 143 of chapter 7 of the Holy Qur'an, Surat A'araf, where Allah Ta'ala says :--
"AND WHEN MUSA CAME TO OUR APPOINTED TIME AND HIS
LORD SPOKE TO HIM, HE SAID : 'MY LORD MAKE ME SEE.." (7:143).
Musa, alaihi Salaat Wassalaam, requested the vision of Almighty God, while the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said that "not one of you will see his Lord until he dies" (Muslim, al-fitnan, 95 and Tirmidhi, fitnan, 56).
Well, it is just as the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said, because when Musa, alaihi Salaam, asked Allah Ta'ala for the vision (to see Allah), He answered him, so that Musa "FELL DOWN STUNNED" (7:143). Then he saw Him in his state of being "stunned".
Note that the word sa'iqan.... sa'aqati originally literally means being 'thunderstruck - struck by lightning or rendered senseless by a loud noise - in a more technical sense, referring to the spiritual state of extinction of the ego (fana) in the self-manifestation of (tajalli) of the Divine Lordship.
