Subject: Serving the Parents carefully

بَابُ قَوْلِهِتَعَالَى: {وَوَصَّيْنَا الإِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا}
Abu 'Amr ash-Shaybanisaid, "The owner of this house (and he pointed at the house of 'Abdullahibn Mas'ud) said, "I asked the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant himpeace, which action Allah loves best. He replied, 'Prayer at its proper time.''Then what?' I asked. He said, 'Then kindness to parents." I asked, 'Thenwhat?' He replied, 'Then jihad in the Way of Allah.'" He added, "Hetold me about these things. If I had asked him to tell me more, he would havetold me more."
It is reported that al-Miqdamibn Ma'dikarib heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant himpeace, say, "Allah enjoins you to be dutiful to your mothers. Then Heenjoins you to be dutiful to your mothers. Then He enjoins you to be dutiful toyour fathers. Then He enjoins you to be dutiful to your next closest relativeand then to your next closest relative."
This hadith reveals therights of parents and then other relatives. According the sayings of the holyProphet PBUH, mothers have greats rights over their children that they shouldbe more dutiful to them than their fathers. Mother suffers much pain andtrouble when child is in her womb and then she delivers her, and then she bringsher up by and by and makes her young. And father also pays his duty to lookafter his children. So, this is the duty of the children that they should bedutiful to their parents.
The holy Quran makesmention,” for thy Sustainer has ordainedthat you shall worship none but Him. And do good unto [thy] parents. Should one of them, or both, attain to oldage in thy care, never say "Ugh" to them or scold them, but [always]speak unto them with reverent speech, 17:23
andspread over them humbly the wings of thy tenderness, and say: "O my Sustainer! Bestow Thygrace upon them, even as they cherished and reared me when I was a child!"17:24
May Allah Almighty give uspower to serve our parents carefully, Amin.
